Bin Yu and Ian Holmes Receive CITRUS Funding for COVID-19 Projects

Bin Yu, Professor of Statistics, and Ian Holmes, Associate Professor of Bioengineering, were both awarded seed funding for their own separate technology projects focused on improving the COVID-19 pandemic. The funding was provided by CITRUS and the Banatao Institute, which is a multicampus research institute of the University of California.

Professor Yu’s project focuses on developing the accuracy of COVID-19 forecasting methods.

Professor Holme’s project focuses on creating a web application that enhances the understanding of SARS-CoV-2 protein domains.
