Michael Eisen, Professor of Genetics, Genomics and Development, and Sandrine Dudoit, Professor of Statistics, joined other UC Berkeley faculty in a live webcast to discuss how data science can be used as a response against COVID-19. The discussion was led by Berkeley Institute for Data Science Director, Saul Perlmutter, and UC Berkeley School of Public Health Dean, Michael Lu, on April 7th.

Professor Dudoit highlighted data’s essential role during this pandemic. Professor Eisen stressed the importance of testing availability and talked about biomedical researchers’ efforts in developing an effective vaccine.
