Daniel Rokhsar leads research on cassava production

The cassava is a major root crop that serves as a source of calories for developing countries. Professor Daniel Rokhsar led a project involving scientists from the US. Department of Energy Joint Genome Institute and institutes worldwide to analyze the genetic diversity of cassava. Further research in this area can improve strategies for breeding disease resistance and climate tolerance into the crop. Read more about Professor Rokhsar’s involvement in this project here.
