There are a number of ways to team with CCB:

  • Attend an upcoming seminar, event, or workshop
  • Employment Opportunities
  • Apply to the Computational Biology PhD or the Designated Emphasis for Computational and Genomic Biology
  • Current Computational Biology Courses
  • Make a donation to CCB through the Campaign for Berkeley

CCB Faculty Affiliation

CCB Faculty Affiliates are UC Berkeley faculty members who have agreed to contribute substantially to the Center’s work and mission by participating in education and research programs, and performing service to the Center.

If you are interested in becoming a CCB Faculty Affiliate provide an up-to-date curriculum vitae, a brief statement of research interests and how they align with those of CCB, and present a seminar in one of the myriad computational biology-related seminars on campus, which will be advertised widely to the computational biology community and attended by Center members. Applications will be reviewed by the CCB Executive Committee and voted on by the Center membership. Affiliates are appointed for an initial term of three years, renewable indefinitely.

CCB Faculty Appointments

In 2004, CCB was allocated seven faculty FTE with which to recruit computational biology faculty. These faculty members contribute a major and sustained commitment to the Center’s mission. 4.0 faculty FTE have been filled thus far, with the remaining 3.0 FTE to be appointed in the years to come. Whenever possible appointments are made joint between two departments. We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Professor of Human Genomic Variation joint with the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology. Please visit our Employment page for more information.

Project Development

If you or your department has a large-scale project or proposal that will involve significant computational resources, CCB can assist with developing a project, fleshing out the proposed project, assembling an interdisciplinary team, developing and submitting a full proposal (or reviewing a full proposal prior to submission to a funding agency), and coordinating meetings and other organizational needs. Please feel free to contact us with any question or problem.
