Michael Jordan, David Patterson, and EECS faculty awarded IEEE International Conference on Data Engineering (ICDE) Influential Paper Award

The 2009 paper “Predicting Multiple Metrics for Queries: Better Decisions Enabled by Machine Learning” by Professor Michael I. Jordan, Professor David Patterson, and other UC Berkeley EECS faculty were presented with the Influential Paper Award at the 2019 IEEE International Conference on Data Engineering (ICDE). The paper discusses the role of a data engineering method as a base for utilizing machine learning to comprehend system behavior in database optimization and data warehousing.
