Sandrine Dudoit and Elizabeth Purdom help roll out first comprehensive atlas of brain cells

Sandrine Dudoit, CCB Faculty and Chair of the Department of Statistics and Elizabeth Purdom, Associate Professor of Statistics and CCB Graduate Program Chair were key members of the statistical team that helped to roll out the very first comprehensive atlas of brain cells. In collaboration with Berkeley neuroscientist colleagues Helen Bateup, Dirk Hockemeyer, and John Ngai, they developed and applied statistical methods and software to classify brain cells and determine their function.
