Mark van der Laan: Building Trust in Public Health Through Data

Mark van der Laan, Professor of Biostatistics and Statistics at UC Berkeley School of Public Health, was recently featured by the School of Public Health on his work and thoughts on the field of public health as they mark National Public Health Week.  Mark is the founding editor of the Journal of Causal Inference and a leader in the field as well as the founder of the Center for Targeted Machine Learning and Causal Inference, which focuses on developing robust, bias-resistant methods to analyze real-world health data and guide evidence-based policy decisions.  Mark emphasizes the importance of high data standards to restore trust in public health.  Read more on his interview here
