Lisa Barcellos and Joseph Lewnard Receive IGI Funding for COVID-19 Research

Lisa Barcellos, Professor of Epidemiology, and Joseph Lewnard, Assistant Professor of Epidemiology, were both awarded grants from the IGI’s Rapid Response Research (RRR) Fund. The RRR Fund awards groups that have research that will yield results in only 6-12 months for the global pandemic.

Joseph Lewnard is collaborating with Brenda Eskenazi and Ana María Mora-Wyrobek to carry out their project “Community-based surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 transmission among California farmworkers.”

Lisa Barcellos is collaborating with Eva Harris to carry out their project “Community-based longitudinal study of asymptomatic carriage and seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 in the Northern California Bay Area.”
