Moisés Expósito Alonso, known for his work on plant species’ adaptation to changing climates, will be joining UC Berkeley as an assistant professor of global change biology and a member of the Innovative Genomics Institute in January. His research combines long-term evolutionary experiments with molecular biology and genomics to understand the gene pathways involved in plant climate adaptation. He has received numerous accolades for his contributions to plant research and ecology, including recognition in the Forbes “30 Under 30” list in science and healthcare and other prestigious awards.
