Bronwyn Lucas, Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology and Center for Computational Biology, recently received the NIH New Innovator Award. This award grants $1.5 million to support her research using cryogenic electron microscopy to develop algorithms that visualize proteins in their cellular context. Her work aims to understand the molecular mechanisms of diseases by examining how different proteins interact within cells, offering insights into how mutations cause disease.
