January 28, 2025
Meaghan Marohn, a graduate student in the Moorjani's lab in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB) and Computational Biology (CCB), recent article highlights the Center for Theoretical Evolutionary Genomics and how it provides a supportive environment for young scientists to practice presentation skills, receive feedback, and build connections within the scientific community. Marohn also emphasizes CTEG’s growth, including its new meeting space, logo design competition, and plans for a blog, all aimed at strengthening the community and supporting graduate students in their academic and professional journeys. Marohn currently serves on the CTEG organizing committee, helping to coordinate weekly seminars that cover a wide range of topics, from human evolution and population genetics to plant biology and professional development.
