Teresa Head-Gordon speaks on AI and Navigating Emerging Technologies

July 2, 2024

On June 18, Telluride Science will host Professor Teresa Head-Gordon from UC Berkeley for a talk titled “Ethics of Emerging Technologies: The Era of Artificial Intelligence” at 6:30 p.m. at the Telluride Conference Center in Mountain Village. Head-Gordon, a researcher with over three decades of experience in machine learning, will discuss the ethical implications of AI, highlighting two main concerns: the potential misuse of AI (e.g., deep-fake videos) and the prioritization of shareholder value over safe implementation. This talk is part of the free, public Telluride Science Town Talks series, sponsored by Alpine Bank and the Telluride Mountain Village Owner’s Association.
