Research Interests:
Some of Slatkin’s research interests include population genetics of human genetic diseases (including linkage disequilibrium mapping, estimation of allele age, testing for natural selection, and modeling founder effects), analysis of human genetic diversity (with the goal of developing methods for inferring historical patterns of migration and population growth from genetics samples from contemporary populations and from recent fossils), and modeling the genetic response to infectious diseases.
