Professor of the Graduate School

Email: shkim@cchem.berkeley.edu

PhD Student: JaeJin Choi

Research interests:
Kim’s interests include structural biology of molecular signaling, structural genomics and proteomics, demography and phylogeny of whole genomes/proteomes, computational genomics, genomic susceptibility of common diseases, and the genomic Tree of Life. His research team develops computational methods to map demography of organisms and to infer their evolutionary relationship based on their whole genome sequence information without sequence alignment by using variations of text searching and comparing algorithms, developed in computer sciences.
